Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has stated that terrorism statistics from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa clearly indicate the existence of a growing political–terror nexus. He emphasized that these terrorists are Fitna-al-Hindustan, having no connection with Islam or Pakistan, and stressed that the war against terrorism is a collective national struggle in which the state remains fully determined to eliminate this menace.

While addressing a press conference, the DG ISPR said that the fight against terrorism is not the responsibility of any single institution but a war of the entire nation. Alongside security forces, public cooperation plays a vital role in ensuring lasting peace. He noted that significant achievements were made in counterterrorism efforts over the past year, with security forces conducting effective operations across various parts of the country.
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry explained that counterterrorism efforts in 2025 cannot be linked to a specific date, as this is a continuous and round-the-clock process. He reiterated that terrorists are Kharijites with no association with Islam, and described them as Fitna-al-Hindustan, elements working on foreign agendas with no ties to Pakistan or Balochistan.
He further stated that the international community has acknowledged Pakistan’s stance and narrative on terrorism, calling it a major diplomatic and moral success for the country. While there is national consensus on the National Action Plan, he admitted that there remains room for further improvement in its implementation.
Sharing operational details, the DG ISPR revealed that a total of 75,175 intelligence-based operations were carried out last year, resulting in the elimination of 5,397 terrorists. He paid tribute to the immense sacrifices made during this long and difficult war, noting that 1,235 security personnel and civilians embraced martyrdom in the fight against terrorism last year.
